Covid & Safety Protocols

As all of us know Covid has kept us on our toes for over 18 months. There have been some new mandates announced for Philadelphia. Also, we’ve had some questions regarding steps we are taking to do our part to mitigate risk. Please review the updates below. We’ll continue to monitor the situation and do what we can to abide by Philadelphia and Pennsylvania mandates, and Sheraton requirements, as well as be as wise as possible for a great event. Thankfully most of our campuses in the Northeast required vaccination this fall, so we’re confident our percentage of attendees vaccinated is high.

  • Masks must be worn indoors, in alignment with Philadelphia's mandate, except when actively eating or drinking. We’ll have extra masks and sanitizer available at the check-in area.

  • The city of Philadelphia will require proof of vaccination or a negative test result for indoor dining at restaurants starting January 3, which includes the lunch provided on Saturday at SALT at the Sheraton - our SALT venue.

    • Attendees will need to bring their vaccination card (paper card, photo or on an app) or a negative test result (digital copy accepted) for Saturday’s lunch.

    • The negative test must be within 24 hours of the lunch (so 12:15pm on Friday or later).

    • Name on vaccination card must match ID.

    • A grab-and-go station will be available for those that may choose to eat in their sleeping room.

    • Per the mandate, vaccination or negative test result includes our Chi Alpha missionary kids (those XAMK’s under 5 years & 3 months old are excluded).

  • To help create a safer environment main sessions will be held in a 10,000 sq ft ballroom (25% larger than SALT 2020), even though we anticipate ~100 fewer attendees (~400-450 total). We'll have ~100 extra chairs set up so that attendees can distance as they choose to. Additionally, the round tables that seat (10) for lunch will only have (8) chairs to improve distance. The lunch will also have many more seats than we have attendees to allow for distancing as desired. In fact, all of our spaces are larger than in the past, which will aid in distancing.

  • In light of the recent case count, we strongly encourage getting tested prior to coming. We plan to have a small number of home testing kits if someone develops symptoms, so that they can isolate.

  • And obviously, if you have symptoms or were recently exposed to Covid, we ask that you not attend.

  • Finally, if you have not been vaccinated, or have not yet received a booster shot, please consider doing so.

  • There will not be a livestream option of SALT.

If you are concerned about attending, attendees can transfer their registration to another attendee at any time. Cancellations with refund will be accepted thru January 3, but please contact us if your concern is Covid-related.

We’re looking forward to a great Northeast SALT! Please point any questions you have to your XA staff or northeastchialpha@gmail.com
